Job summary

Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is seeking a Litigation Paralegal with Bankruptcy and Mortgage Foreclosure experience in Fort Lauderdale. You will perform e-filing, court interactions, and document preparation for attorneys according to established policies.

Responsibilities include drafting and reviewing filings, managing high-volume caseloads, and coordinating deadlines under state and federal rules. Strong organizational skills and knowledge of foreclosure procedures are essential.

Qualifications

• E-File in State and Federal Court systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Knowledge of multiple states’ bankruptcy and foreclosure procedures is ideal.
• Writes clearly and edits for spelling and grammar; adapts writing style as needed.
• Demonstrates strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• E-File in both State and Federal Court systems.
• Record/capture billable time in compliance with client guidelines.
• Draft transmittal letters.
• Investigate facts as requested by attorneys.
• Prepare, review, format and cite check legal documents such as notices, consents, appearances, answers, objections, stipulations, affidavits, motions, briefs and pleadings.
• Prepare exhibits, including trial exhibits.
• Redact confidential information.
• Conduct SCRA searches, factual investigations and legal research; review title and lien priority; identify ownership interests and issues.
