Job summary

Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, a national law firm, seeks a Litigation Paralegal with bankruptcy and mortgage foreclosure experience to support attorneys with e-filing, document preparation, and client communications.

You will handle court filings in state and federal systems, manage billable time, cite-check documents, and prepare exhibits while maintaining calendars and deadlines in a deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred; three years of bankruptcy and mortgage foreclosure experience is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, iManage and Adobe.
• E-Filing experience in both State and Federal Court systems.

Responsibilities

• E-File in State and Federal Court systems.
• Record/capture billable time in accordance with client guidelines.
• Draft transmittal letters.
• Prepare, review, format and cite check legal documents such as notices, consents, appearances, motions, briefs and pleadings.
• Prepare exhibits, including trial exhibits.
• Redact confidential information.
• Manage high-volume caseload and deadlines; ensure foreclosures comply with state rules.
• Prepare and file foreclosure pleadings, notices, affidavits, motions, and other documents.
• Monitor case deadlines and maintain litigation calendars.
