Shelter Insurance Companies in the United States seeks a Litigation Counsel to lead claims litigation strategy across designated Shelter states. You will direct Managers and Supervisors in complex branch claims, supervise outside attorneys, and direct training and protocol development aligned with state law.

• Ability to manage changing schedules and prioritize time-sensitive work.
• Capable of building relationships with diverse stakeholders including defense attorneys and managers.
• Law degree and professional mastery of litigation, insurance law and policy terms.
• 1–3 years of trial or legal claims experience and familiarity with insurance contracts.

Responsabilités

• Manage and direct claims litigation activities and case strategy for designated Shelter states.
• Direct Managers and Supervisors in claims handling and communication on complex branch claims.
• Supervise outside attorneys, training, and overall claims-handling protocol by state law.
• Research law and explain impact on claims handling, procedures, and policy changes.
• Counsel Shelter departments about various claims, coverage, and legal issues and coordinate training.
