• Manage and direct claims litigation activities and case strategy for designated Shelter states.
• Direct managers and supervisors in claims handling, investigation, and communication on high-exposure claims.
• Supervise outside attorneys; hire, fire, and evaluate performance.
• Direct and train claims-handling activities per state law for branches.
• Establish and direct overall claims-handling protocol compliant with state law.
• Research law to explain impact on claims handling, procedures, and policy changes.
• Counsel other Shelter departments on claims, coverage, and legal issues.
• Direct and prepare training for schools, eLearning, and branches.
