Job summary

The Winnetka Public Schools District 36 seeks a full-time Literacy Coach for the Carleton Washburne School (7th & 8th Grades) for the 2026-2027 school year. The Literacy Coach will support teachers with planning, assessment, and instructional improvements aligned to district priorities.

Responsibilities include coaching cycles, data analysis, and professional development to enhance literacy across curricular areas, under the supervision of building administration and the Assistant Superintendent

Qualifications

Illinois Professional Educator's License and academic requirements for the position.
4+ years of relevant classroom teaching experience.
Strong knowledge of subject matter and instructional skills.
Excellent leadership, facilitation, and communication abilities.
Able to build effective relationships in a professional environment.
Clear FBI/Background check and related requirements.

Responsibilities

Facilitate development and implementation of the District's instructional program in the assigned area.
Collaborate with teachers to design engaging, inquiry-based lessons.
Assess and analyze student learning; support School Improvement Plans.
Provide staff development and coaching to improve instructional practice.
Coordinate instructional materials and serve as liaison between districts and schools.
