Job summary

Stillwater Area Public Schools seeks a Building Literacy Lead to support the implementation of Science of Reading practices and new elementary literacy curriculum. The position partners with the principal, Skye Hoekstra and Caitlyn Willis to provide guidance, resources, and district-led professional development.

The BLL leads implementation, coaches teachers, analyzes literacy data, participates in PLCs, and coordinates district literacy initiatives at the school level.

Qualifications

• Certified educator with strong literacy instruction background.
• Read Act Certified (elementary) and ELA background (secondary).
• Strong leadership, coaching, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with educators at various levels.
• Experience analyzing and utilizing literacy data to drive instruction.

Responsibilities

• Implementation Support: integrate new literacy practices aligned with district/state standards.
• Assist in Read Act screening and intervention processes.
• Provide ongoing professional development and model lessons.
• Collaborate with PLCs and grade-level teams on literacy data.
• Monitor literacy data to inform instruction and track progress.
• Serve as primary liaison between school staff and District Literacy Lead.
