Job summary

Maricopa County is seeking a Learning Acceleration Field Specialist to support literacy in Grades 4-6, collaborating with instructional coaches, teachers, and school leaders at multiple sites. The role centers on classroom coaching, co-planning, and real-time student support within Tier 1 instruction.

The position provides professional learning on the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy and aims to build lasting capacity in literacy teaching, improving student outcomes across the district.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in education program implementation and administration.
• Master's Degree in Education.
• An equivalent combination of education and related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Monitor implementation of student-centered coaching and literacy acceleration.
• Design and deliver professional learning aligned to Science of Reading and Structured Literacy.
• Develop training materials and resources for implementation tools.
• Manage performance and provide feedback to school instructional coaches.
• Support coaches and school leaders in strengthening Tier 1 literacy instruction.
• Collaborate with leadership teams to monitor progress and drive continuous improvement.
• Collect and evaluate data to inform needs assessment and progress monitoring.
• Influence school-wide literacy acceleration plan implementation.
