Job summary

District Wide in Silver City, NM seeks a Literacy Coach to support CLSD-funded literacy initiatives across district sites. The role focuses on implementing structured literacy, delivering professional learning, and coaching teachers to improve literacy outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s in education with a literacy focus, 5+ years K-12 experience, a NM teaching license (Level 2 or 3), and a LETRS training background. Position is full-time and in-person.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education with a focus on literacy
• Minimum 5 or more years of experience in K-12 education
• Level 2 or 3 NM teaching license
• Preference for a Reading Endorsement
• Completion of LETRS training

Responsibilities

• Providing professional development in structured literacy strategies and HQIM implementation
• Support 20-25 teachers annually within the district
• Conduction Observation Feedback Coaching Cycles
• Support data collection and analysis to inform instruction
• Provide teachers with effective instructional strategies
• Attend and support PLCs on instructional practices and literacy research
• Adhere to CLSD training and statutory requirements
• Create a collaborative partnership with teachers to implement new teaching practices
