Job summary

Vultr is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to design, administer, and optimize Linux-based infrastructure supporting our global customer base and data center operations. The ideal candidate is technically driven, detail-oriented, and capable of exercising independent judgment when diagnosing complex system issues and implementing scalable solutions.

• Strong proficiency administering Linux systems (CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu).
• Scripting with Bash or Python; ability to diagnose non-routine issues.
• Familiarity with virtualization, networking, and security hardening.
• Experience with web servers, databases, caching, and firewalls.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and upgrade Linux systems for scalability and reliability.
• Administer Linux servers and services; diagnose performance and security issues.
• Serve as escalation point for Linux-related problems and remediation.
• Collaborate with engineering/ops to support data center deployments and migrations.
• Develop automation, scripts, and tooling to improve efficiency.
