Job summary

Vultr is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to design, administer, and optimize Linux-based infrastructure supporting our global customer base and data center operations. In this role, you will work across systems, applications, and networking layers to maintain secure, reliable environments, contribute to infrastructure upgrades, and support platform expansion.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency administering Linux systems (CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu).
• Experience with Bash or Python scripting.
• Familiarity with virtualization, networking, or software development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and implement Linux system upgrades, enhancements, and infrastructure changes to support scalability and reliability
• Administer and maintain Linux servers and services, diagnosing performance, stability, or security issues
• Serve as a technical escalation point for Linux-related issues and determine remediation strategies
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to design and support new data center deployments
• Perform application and system migrations, evaluating dependencies and risks
• Monitor system performance and security posture and maintain compliance with security standards
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and operational standards
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align systems with platform reliability and scalability
