Job summary

Matlen Silver is seeking a Linux Infrastructure / Operations Support Engineer to manage enterprise Linux infrastructure and provide hands-on operational support. The role covers databases, GRID computing, enterprise job schedulers, and messaging platforms.

The position requires a 12:30 PM–9:30 PM shift and four days onsite during the first six months, with a transition to three days onsite thereafter. Hybrid work arrangement in Pennington NJ or Jersey City NJ.

Qualifications

• Operational support, end-user or production support experience.
• Experience managing and troubleshooting enterprise Linux environments.
• Scripting experience; Python preferred.
• Experience with AWS or cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues in production.
• Willingness to work a 12:30 PM – 9:30 PM shift and participate in a weekend rotation.
• Onsite 4 days per week during the first 6 months, transitioning to 3 days onsite thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, and implement Linux‑based infrastructure across an enterprise environment.
• Provide operational support and troubleshooting for critical infrastructure and applications.
• Support Linux systems hosting databases, GRID computing platforms, enterprise job schedulers, and messaging platforms.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and work toward timely resolution of production‑impacting problems.
• Develop and maintain scripts to automate operational and infrastructure tasks.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and support teams to resolve technical issues.
• Participate in weekend support rotations as required.
• Work a 12:30 PM – 9:30 PM shift.
• Apply infrastructure and operational best practices to improve system reliability and supportability.
• Contribute to automation, monitoring, and reliability initiatives.
