Job summary

Perennial Resources International in New York City is seeking a skilled systems administrator to support and scale a Unix/Linux enterprise environment. You will manage clustered compute resources, enterprise storage, and mission-critical Linux/UNIX server platforms, hands-on.

This role emphasizes automation, scripting, and collaboration with engineering and infrastructure teams across Linux/UNIX and Windows to improve reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Solid working knowledge of Unix/Linux system administration: shell scripting, process/service management, networking fundamentals, and troubleshooting in a Linux/UNIX server environment.
• Exposure to Windows enterprise environment is helpful but secondary to Unix/Linux strength.
• Familiarity with configuration management and automation tooling a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Administering and troubleshooting Linux/UNIX servers across production and development environments.
• Supporting clustered computing and high-performance storage solutions.
• Building automation and scripting to improve system reliability, efficiency, and scalability.
• Partnering with engineering and infrastructure teams on cross-platform projects spanning Linux/UNIX and Windows systems.
• Diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues at the infrastructure level.
• Contributing to the design and hardening of enterprise-grade compute and communications infrastructure.
