Job summary

The Timberline Group is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer to support a Linux-based infrastructure and applications, with network monitoring and diagnostics. This role requires after-hours, non-standard schedules, and occasional weekend shifts for 24/7 operations.

Ideal candidates have 3-5 years in infrastructure management, experience with RedHat Satellite and IPA/IDM, Linux/Unix expertise, and strong scripting/automation skills, plus solid customer service and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years demonstrated skills in a high-tech environment, emphasizing infrastructure management.
• Experience with RedHat Satellite.
• Experience with IPA/IDM.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix OS and command line.
• Fundamental knowledge of SAN and NAS storage devices.
• Scripting and automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Planning, designing, testing, and implementing new solutions and services.
• Install/configure/maintain Linux infrastructure and applications.
• Provide documentation to IT staff for upgrades and infrastructure.
• Lead complex issue resolution and on-call support.
• Perform data backup, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
