Job summary

Chain Electric Company is seeking an Apprentice Lineman B to assist in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution systems on overhead and underground networks. The role requires climbing, driving to sites, and performing skilled tasks following standard trade practices.

Ideal candidates will have 2 1/2 years in groundman/lineman work, the ability to travel on short notice, and own tools.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 1/2 years’ experience in groundman and lineman work.
Must live within one hour drive of Richland, MS.
Must be able to travel on short notice; irregular hours, weekends and holidays.
Must possess own tools.
Physically able to perform demanding construction duties.
Able to read and follow instructions.
Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
CDL-B license required; no intrastate restriction (K).

Responsibilities

Climb poles or use bucket access equipment at heights.
Safely construct, maintain, and repair electrical overhead and underground distribution systems and substations.
Drive vehicles equipped with tools and materials to job sites.
Splice or solder cables and lay conductors in trenches or conduits.
Identify defective equipment using diagrams and testing instruments.
Maintain safety and control traffic near work zones.
