Job summary

Chain Electric Company is seeking an entry-level Apprentice Lineman to safely perform skilled electrical work in both overhead and underground distribution systems, while learning apprenticeship skills toward journeyman status.

The role involves climbing, pole work, equipment operation, reading diagrams, and strict adherence to safety rules. Candidates must live within one hour of West Monroe, LA, have a CDL-B license, own tools, and be prepared for irregular hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience in groundman and lineman work.
• Ability to travel on short notice, anytime.
• Available to work irregular hours, weekends and holidays.
• Must possess a valid CDL-B license.
• Live within one hour drive of West Monroe, LA.
• Must have your own tools.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to read and follow instructions.
• Ability to hear long distances and have good vision.

Responsibilities

• Climb poles or use bucket trucks to access equipment.
• Safely construct, maintain, and repair distribution systems and substations.
• Identify defective components and follow diagrams and tests.
• Drive vehicles with tools to job sites.
• Splice cables and lay underground or overhead lines.
• Uphold safety procedures and manage work zones.
