Job summary

Pedernales Electric Cooperative is seeking a Lineman Apprentice to perform operations, maintenance, and construction on transmission and distribution systems in Texas. You will build and maintain overhead and underground lines, work energized and de-energized lines after training, inspect equipment, and report hazards while prioritizing safety and reliability.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma and must complete the DOL-approved Lineman Apprenticeship Program through Apprentice

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of Department of Labor approved Lineman Apprenticeship Program requirements for Apprentice Level 2.
Operate PEC vehicle(s) for business purposes per policy.

Responsibilities

Perform operation, maintenance, construction and repair of transmission and distribution systems.
Construct and maintain overhead and underground electric lines and equipment.
Work energized lines after completing Apprentice 2 and hot line training.
Inspect primary and substation equipment.
Report problems and hazards observed.
Investigate power outages and locate causes.
Perform rubber glove work on energized lines from an aerial device.
Work on de-energized or grounded lines or equipment.
Participate in and complete training as scheduled.
Adhere to safety regulations and call-out duty requirements.
