Job summary

Pedernales Electric Cooperative seeks a skilled apprentice to perform duties in operation, maintenance, construction and repair of transmission and distribution systems in the Kyle, Texas area. The role involves building and maintaining overhead and underground lines, inspecting equipment, and ensuring safety and compliance.

Candidates must have a High School diploma, the DOL Journeyworker program, a valid Texas Class A CDL, and be willing to participate in call-out duties and various shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of DOL Journeyworker program.
• Valid Texas Class A CDL and MVR per PEC policy.

Responsibilities

• Construct and maintain overhead and underground electric lines and equipment.
• Inspect existing power lines and substation equipment.
• Maintain a safe and reliable system for members and the public.
• Lead and/or monitor job briefings and tailboard meetings.
• Participate in emergency restoration and call-out duty.
• Coordinate activities with other departments.
