Job summary

Pedernales Electric Cooperative, Inc. is seeking a skilled lineworker for transmission and distribution maintenance, construction and repair. The role involves overhead/underground lines, substation work, and emergency restoration with call-out duties.

The position requires a high school diploma, completion of DOL Journeyworker program, and a Texas Class A CDL. On-site work in Spring Branch, TX with competitive base pay and KPI bonuses.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and codes in electrical transmission and distribution.
• Knowledge of electric power industry construction standards.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate mastery and continue duties of Apprentice 1, 2, 3 and 4
• Construct and maintain overhead and underground electric lines and equipment
• Inspect existing primary and secondary power lines and substation equipment
• Correct and/or report problems and observed hazards
• Maintain and operate vehicles and equipment
• Investigate trouble on lines and locate cause of power outages
• Maintain and service tools and equipment
• Perform rubber glove work on energized lines
• Work on de-energized or grounded lines or equipment
• Participate in training and assist in training others
• Demonstrate safety compliance
• Lead/monitor job briefings and tail board meetings
• Approve purchasing invoices and focus on cost controls
• Maintain safe and reliable system for members
• Manage construction project completion
• Participate in emergency restoration and call-out duty
• Update mapping system
• Resolve customer complaints and inquiries
• Provide guidance to employees
• Discuss performance with supervisor
• Instruct and supervise subordinates when supervisor absent
• Interpret and communicate work procedures
• Develop and review operating procedures
• Establish work priorities
• Coordinate with other departments
• Conduct safety meetings
• Operate PEC vehicles and maintain driving eligibility
• Maintain confidentiality
• Stay updated on technology
• Attend regularly
