AEP in Indiana is seeking a Line Mechanic with progression through C, B and A levels, focusing on installation, maintenance, and inspection of overhead and underground line facilities. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, plus one year of distribution electrical power line work or an equivalent program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year distribution electrical power line work or related line experience or equivalent training.
• 2+ years as Line Mechanic C or equivalent experience is preferred.
• 4+ years line work experience with journeyman pre-assessment for external candidates.

Responsabilités

• Assemble, install, maintain and inspect overhead and underground facilities.
• Progress through line classifications up to B/A with appropriate supervision.
• Build and erect equipment mountings and overhead transformer installations.
• Perform switching and tagging on energized circuits with proper supervision.
• Direct and supervise assistants; complete apprentice cards for review.
• Abide by safety guidelines and travel/on-call requirements.
