American Electric Power (AEP) in Texas is seeking a Line Mechanic to install, maintain, and inspect transmission and distribution facilities, including overhead and underground equipment. The role progresses from C-100 through C-400 certifications, handling voltages up to 600 volts and beyond with appropriate supervision.

The job requires residency within the service territory, a high school diploma or GED, and at least one year of relevant line experience or an electrical power line school

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year distribution electrical power line work experience or equivalent.
• Must have General safety and field operation knowledge.

Responsabilités

• Assemble, install, maintain, remove and inspect overhead and underground facilities.
• Test, energize and troubleshoot URD cable and equipment under supervision.
• Direct work of assistants and complete monthly apprentice cards.
