Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) in Findlay, OH is seeking Line Mechanic C, B or A candidates to join a skilled team responsible for installing, maintaining, and inspecting transmission and distribution facilities. The role emphasizes safety, training progression, and hands-on work on energized lines up to 600 volts under supervision.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, a CDL A, and relevant line work experience or certified lineman training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of distribution electrical power line work experience or related line experience.
• Successful completion of apprentice lineman training incl. B-200 certification and hands-on demos.
• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Must progress toward higher classifications within company guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, maintain, inspect overhead and underground facilities.
• Work on conductors, cables, transformers, fixtures and structures under supervision.
• Test, energize and troubleshoot URD cable and equipment.
• Direct the work of assigned apprentices and ensure safety procedures.
