Job summary

American Electric Power is hiring a Line Mechanic C to assemble, install, maintain, and inspect overhead and underground transmission facilities in Michigan. After completing C-100/200 training, you’ll work on energized lines up to 600 volts under appropriate supervision and advance through the role’s progression steps.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid Class A CDL, and prior line-work experience or electrical power line schooling with internship.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Line Mechanic-C experience or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL is required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, maintain, remove and inspect overhead and underground facilities.
• Work on conductors and equipment energized up to 260-600 volts as qualified.
• Progress through supervision levels as skill grows and perform switching of energized circuits.
