Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a Line Mechanic C at the Fayetteville operation center, performing installation, maintenance and inspection of overhead and underground electrical facilities. This role builds on Lineman D skill levels and supports a progressive ladder in field line work.

The job requires a High School diploma or GED, 1 year of distribution line experience or equivalent, and a valid Class A CDL.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: 1 year distribution electrical power line work experience, or equivalent.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid Class A CDL required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, maintain, remove and inspect overhead and underground facilities.
• Operate switching devices and test equipment on voltages up to 600V.
• Direct the work of assistants and submit apprentice documentation.
• Perform safety tagging procedures and troubleshoot lines.
