Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) in Crooksville, Ohio is hiring a Line Mechanic C to install, maintain and inspect overhead and underground electrical facilities. You will progress from basic tasks to more advanced work, including energized conductors under supervision and URD cable testing.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, electrical line experience, and a valid CDL Class A. You must be willing to relocate within 30 miles of Crooksville.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; advanced lineman training preferred.
• Minimum experience in distribution power line work or related lineman training.
• Must be able to progress through line mechanic levels with demonstrated skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, maintain, remove and inspect overhead and underground facilities.
• Test, de-energize, ground URD cable and troubleshoot energized equipment.
• Direct and supervise assigned crew, perform switching and tagging of energized lines.
• Complete monthly apprentice cards and progress through certification requirements.
