Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) in New Philadelphia, Ohio, seeks a Line Mechanic D to assist with installation, maintenance and inspection of overhead and underground facilities, and to operate line trucks under supervision.

No experience is required; a high school diploma or GED is expected. CDL beginner's permit must be obtained within 60 days; must reside within 30 miles of the service center. The role offers hourly pay and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, maintenance and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities.
• Operate line trucks and associated equipment under supervision.
• Demonstrate safety practices and progressive responsibility as skill level increases.
• Read and record readings on meters; perform as directed by higher classifications.
