Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Line Mechanic-C Experience: minimum one year distribution electrical power line work or 16 weeks internship/associate degree with 16 weeks internship.
• Line Mechanic-B Experience: minimum 2 years as Line Mechanic C or equivalent.
• Line Mechanic-A Experience: apprenticeship lineman training with B-200 certification and journeyman pre‑assessment; external candidates need 4 years line work.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, maintain, remove and inspect overhead and underground facilities and equipment.
• Test, de-energize and ground URD cable; troubleshoot URD cable and equipment.
• Use test equipment up to 600 volts and related electrical tools.
• Build and erect equipment mountings and overhead transformer installations.
• Direct the work of employees assigned to assist and complete apprentice cards.
• Perform switching and tagging procedures on energized circuits.
