Job summary

Oak Harbor Freight Lines in Yakima, WA is seeking a Line Driver to safely move freight trailers between terminals, primarily during evenings and overnights. You will focus on driving, hooking and unhooking trailers with no freight handling required.

Competitive pay includes mileage pay between $0.70 and $0.79 per mile plus $0.03 per mile for triples, plus per-drop, per-hook and fuel. Hourly pay ranges from $29.95 to $33.86, with benefits and weekend/night availability as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years old.
• Class A CDL with Hazmat, Tanker, and Double/Triples endorsements.
• At least one year of verifiable commercial driving experience with similar equipment.
• Doubles/triples & chaining experience is preferred but not required.
• Valid DOT Medical Certification.
• Must have a clean driving record with no DUI, reckless driving, or positive drug/alcohol screen in the last 3 years.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers, co-workers, and dispatch/managers.
• Basic English proficiency in reading, writing and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently tractor trailer combinations between terminals or meet points.
• Adapting to challenging conditions like inclement weather and various road conditions.
• Ability to meet the Company’s reliability standard for employees.
• Ability to chain as needed and to work in inclement weather is required.
• Availability to work weekends and/ or nights if needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Line Driver:

Competitive Mileage Pay:

• Earn between $0.70 to $0.79 per mile. Plus, you get an extra $0.03 per mile for triples.
• Get compensated for every drop, hook, CHAINING, and fuel.
