Job summary

J. Alexander's Restaurant is opening a new location in Gilbert, AZ and is seeking a line cook to join a fast-paced, scratch kitchen that values high-quality food presentation and teamwork. Candidates will work in an open-kitchen setting and must be flexible to various shifts.

Responsibilities include managing protein tickets, ensuring proper temps, following sanitation protocols, and assisting with opening/closing duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older to operate kitchen equipment.
• 1 year of kitchen/culinary/chef experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with kitchen equipment including knives, slicer, mixer, stoves and ovens.
• Flexible to work a variety of shifts.

Responsibilities

• Our kitchens are fast-paced and scratch-made; we hire line and prep cooks who meet high standards for food presentation and execution.
• Operate in an open kitchen layout with visibility from the dining area and coordinate with expo, assembler and management.
• Manage ticket orders for proteins and ensure proper temperatures while maintaining a clean workstation.
• Follow sanitation protocols and handle opening duties and closing cleaning tasks.
