Job summary

The Barfield, Autograph Collection in Amarillo, TX, is seeking a Cook II to join our luxury kitchen team. You will prepare foods at breakfast, lunch or dinner, set up and breakdown stations, and follow recipes and safety standards.

This role emphasizes strong knife skills, precise equipment operation, and dependable teamwork. Previous kitchen experience is preferred, and nights, weekends or overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow recipes and calculate amounts within recipes.
• Good, safe knife and equipment skills.
• Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment including but not limited to: Blender, Slicer, Grinder, Chopper, Mixer, Oven, Grill, Steamers, Steam Jacket Kettles, Fryer, and Tilting Skillet.
• Good reading and conversion skills.
• Ability to absorb a large amount of information in a short period of time.

Responsibilities

• Prepares a variety of foods with various cooking methods to meet production schedule.
• Pulls required items in sufficient quantities to prep according to menu forecasts and prepares ingredients.
• Sets up, clears and breaks down work station.
• Prepares foods as directed in accordance with recipes and quality standards.
• Washes and disinfects kitchen area, equipment and maintains sanitation.
• Monitors temperatures and ensures correct storage of items.
• Reports maintenance problems to Supervisor and follows safety policies.
• Continues training on food preparation, safety and sanitation.
• Maintains teamwork and communication with staff and supervisors.
• May work nights, weekends, and overtime.
