Job summary

Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill + Bar is seeking a line cook to complete all assigned prep work and set up the cook’s station. You will maintain product presentation, quality, and safety standards while preparing menu items according to Applebee’s recipes and specifications.

You will also support a culture aligned with the company values and mission. The role requires 1–3 years of kitchen experience, knife handling skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must have 1–3 years of experience cooking in a restaurant (preferred but not required).
• Understanding of cooking methods and knife handling.
• Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and follow cooking directions.
• Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be organized and self-motivated.
• Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexible to work weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and cook/assemble dishes per recipes.
• Control portions and minimize waste to meet forecasted costs.
• Ensure timely dish preparation by restocking and meeting prep times.
• Set up and clean station per restaurant protocol.
• Maintain a clean work station and equipment.
• Comply with sanitary, health, and hygiene standards.
• Ensure ingredient and product quality and freshness.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
