Job summary

Applebee's Neighborhood Grill + Bar is seeking a line cook to handle prep, cooking, and plating according to recipes and plate standards. You’ll manage portions, restock ingredients, and maintain a clean, safe work area in a fast-paced restaurant.

Candidates should have 1–3 years of cooking experience or more, with knife skills and the ability to stay organized and work flexible hours including weekends. Safety and quality are emphasized in all tasks.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of cooking experience preferred but not required.
• Understanding of cooking methods and knife handling.
• Ability to read and follow cooking directions.
• Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be organized and self-motivated.
• Must stand, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients then cook and assemble dishes as indicated by recipes.
• Perform portion control and minimize waste to keep cost within forecasted range.
• Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely manner by restocking ingredients and meeting prep times.
• Set up and clean station according to restaurant protocol.
• Maintain a clean work station area and equipment.
• Comply with sanitary, health, and personal hygiene standards.
• Ensure quality and freshness of ingredients and products.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Manager to ensure smooth operations.
