Job summary

Whiskey Cake - La Cantera in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Line Cook to join our kitchen team. You will cook and plate dishes, follow recipes, and maintain food quality and safety standards, working with the Chef de Cuisine to time preparations.

We value teamwork and reliability; responsibilities include reading orders, maintaining a clean station, proper equipment use, and complying with health regulations. High school diploma and Food Handler certification required; E-Verify employer.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to read and understand tickets as they come through.
• Stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Properly use a knife and other kitchen equipment.
• Maintain a current Food Handler's Certification and follow sanitation procedures.
• We participate in the E-Verify program.

Responsibilities

• Primarily responsible for cooking and preparing food items according to given recipes.
• Interact with guests and coworkers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Prepare all food products according to prescribed methods and recipes.
• Follow and maintain outlined cook times for all prepared items.
• Maintain the highest level of food quality obtainable.
• Receive and store products according to local health regulations.
• Maintain clean and safe kitchen and work environment.
• Operate and use all kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
