The Weathervane is seeking a capable Line Cook to join our kitchen team. You will prepare and execute a variety of dishes with precision, collaborating with fellow cooks to maintain a fast-paced, high-quality operation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a line cook or in a similar culinary role with solid cooking techniques and food safety.
• Familiarity with operating and maintaining kitchen equipment (grills, ovens, salamanders, broilers, fryers).
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen to meet service demands.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute a variety of menu items, including appetizers, entrées, and sides, following established recipes and guidelines.
• Cook and grill food items according to specified cooking methods, temperatures, and portion sizes, ensuring optimal taste and presentation.
• Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling, storage, labeling, and safe temperatures.
• Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies before shifts to ensure smooth service.
• Monitor cooking times to maintain consistent quality and timely dish delivery.
• Ensure all dishes meet the restaurant's quality standards for taste, appearance, and portions.
• Collaborate with kitchen team to coordinate orders and accommodate dietary restrictions.
• Assist in inventory monitoring and notify supervisors of shortages or discrepancies.
• Participate in cleaning and maintenance tasks to uphold cleanliness and safety.
