Job summary

Wind Creek Hospitality's Wind Creek Chicago Southland is seeking a Line Cook to prepare menu items with speed and precision. You will set up line stations including pantry, grill, and sauté, and assemble dishes according to written specifications.

The role requires high-volume cooking experience, strong teamwork, and adherence to safety and sanitation standards. Serve Safe training is preferred, and the position offers benefits and parking.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and set to complete within 6 months.
• Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
• Two (2) years high volume cooking experience required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, in English, and follow recipes.
• Must pass job interview, including a guest service audition.
• Serve Safe Sanitation training completed.

Responsibilities

• Slices, dICES and chops fruits, vegetables, cheeses, cooked meats, poultry and seafood.
• Prepares dressings, sauces, marinations, canapés, hors d’oeuvres and buffet items.
• Handles meat, seafood, poultry and produce following proper food-handling procedures.
• Reads and follows recipes; rotates all products.
• Adheres to sanitation standards in the kitchen and operates equipment safely.
• Maintains a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
