Job summary

Wind Creek Chicago Southland is seeking a Line Cook to prepare food items in a timely manner across pantry, grill, broiler, sauté, and garde manger stations. You will assemble dishes per specifications, maintain sanitation, and ensure quality.

The role requires high-volume kitchen experience and SERVE SAFE sanitation training. The job offers a base pay of $18.45–$22.75 per hour, along with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, FSA, EAP, PTO, 401(k)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and working toward GED completion.
• Two years high-volume cooking experience required.
• Must communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Must pass job interview including guest service audition.

Responsibilities

• Slices, dices and chops fruits, vegetables, cheeses, cooked meats, poultry and seafood.
• Prepares dressings, sauces, marinations, canapés, hors d’oeuvres and buffet items.
• Handles meat, seafood, poultry and produce according to proper food-handling procedures.
• Reads and follows recipes/specifications; rotates products.
• Adheres to sanitation standards in kitchen.
• Operate a variety of kitchen equipment safely per guidelines.
• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
• Tests cooked foods by tasting and smelling them.
• Assists with daily promotions and station assignments as needed.
