Job summary

Wind Creek Chicago Southland is seeking a Prep Cook to prepare food to recipes, set up line stations, and maintain quality standards. The role involves handling knives, assembling dishes, and following safety and sanitation guidelines in a high-volume kitchen.

You will read and follow prep lists, work with pantry, grill, broiler, sauté, and garde manger stations, and collaborate with a team in a fast-paced environment. Evening and weekend hours are common, with benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or in progress
• Must be 18 years or older
• 1 year high-volume cooking experience or culinary schooling preferred
• Ability to read and follow recipes and prep lists in English
• Serve Safe Sanitation training required or to be completed
• Willing to work odd and irregular hours

Responsibilities

• Set up line cooking stations and prep items per recipes
• Prepare dressings, sauces, canapés, and buffet items
• Operate kitchen equipment safely following procedures
• Maintain clean, organized work area and proper food handling
• Assist team and adapt to changing kitchen needs
• Support promotions and daily specials from pre-shift info
