Job summary

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill in Richmond, VA seeks a Line Cook to join our Back of House team. You will cook with speed, accuracy, and pride, set up and maintain your station, and ensure timely, well-presented plates for guests.

Responsibilities include following food safety standards, labeling and storing items, and supporting teammates in a fast-paced environment. Flexible schedules and growth opportunities accompany this role.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
• Ability to work on your feet for 8 hours or more a day.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and lift items frequently weighing up to 35 pounds.
• Guest-oriented mindset and positive working relationships with teammates.
• Attention to cleanliness and safety procedures.
• Reliable transportation and 18+ age requirement for BOH positions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items with speed, accuracy, and consistency.
• Set up, stock, and maintain your assigned station throughout service.
• Read and execute tickets accurately while meeting timing standards.
• Plate dishes with consistency and attention to presentation.
• Monitor food temperatures and follow all food safety standards.
• Properly label, store, and rotate all food items.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Support teammates and communicate effectively during service.
• Complete closing and cleaning checklists as assigned.
