Job summary

Juniors Supermarkets is seeking a Cook to prepare and cook hot foods in a high-volume kitchen, ensuring quality and timely service. You will follow recipes, maintain a clean station, and uphold safety standards while collaborating with a fast-paced team.

The role requires standing for long periods, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a high-volume kitchen.
• Ability to follow standardized recipes and presentation standards.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook hot foods (meats, vegetables, soups, sauces, starches) per recipes and sheets.
• Maintain a clean, organized station and comply with food safety regulations.
• Follow proper food handling, storage, and rotation to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
• Monitor food quality and temperature to meet safety standards.
• Operate ovens, grills, fryers, and steamers; keep equipment in good working order.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries; help manage inventory.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely prep and service.
• Follow directions from Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager for daily tasks.
• Adhere to company policies (dress code, attendance) and support a positive team environment.
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed; training and PPE provided.
