Job summary

The Hilton University of Florida Conference Center Gainesville, managed by Pyramid Global Hospitality, is seeking a dependable Line Cook to support the hotel’s lunch service and Shula’s dinner line. This role requires cooking, station setup, and line support in a fast-paced kitchen.

Ideal candidates will have prior line cook or prep cook experience, excellent teamwork and time management, the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds, and a commitment to food safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Previous line cook or prep cook experience required.
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume kitchen.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients, cook, and assemble dishes according to recipes and chef specifications
• Support lunch service operations for the hotel restaurant and banquet outlets as needed
• Complete prep work for Shula’s dinner line and assist with opening line setup
• Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely and consistent manner
• Restock ingredients and maintain organized workstations to support smooth kitchen operations
• Follow portion control standards and minimize waste to maintain food cost goals
• Set up and clean stations according to restaurant and kitchen protocols
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, tables, shelves, and prep areas
• Comply with all sanitary, health, and personal hygiene standards
• Monitor quality and freshness of ingredients and products
• Assist with additional kitchen duties as assigned by the Line Supervisor, Sous Chef, or Executive Chef
