Job summary

Cambria Hotel Calabasas is seeking a reliable Line Cook I to join the Food & Beverage team. You will prepare, cook, and plate items according to recipes, maintain quality and sanitation, and support station setup and daily prep.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of professional cooking or line cook experience, prior hotel or restaurant kitchen exposure, and the ability to work quickly in a bustling environment while staying organized.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of professional cooking or line cook experience preferred.
• Previous hotel or restaurant kitchen experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen sanitation.
• Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and teamwork.
• California Food Handler Card required within the applicable legal timeframe.
• Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, mornings, and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
• Maintain consistent food quality, taste, temperature, and presentation.
• Set up, stock, organize, and maintain cooking stations throughout each shift.
• Complete daily food preparation, opening, closing, and cleaning duties.
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, labeling, dating, and FIFO procedures.
• Monitor inventory, minimize food waste, and follow portion controls to support food cost management.
• Maintain clean and sanitary kitchen equipment, workstations, and storage areas.
• Work efficiently to ensure accurate and timely food service.
• Communicate supply shortages, equipment issues, and operational concerns to kitchen leadership.
• Assist with breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquets, and special events as business demands require.
• Follow all food safety regulations, health department requirements, and hotel operating procedures.
• Support fellow team members during busy service periods.
