Job summary

Tupelo Honey is hiring a kitchen team member to support cooks and chefs in a fast-paced restaurant environment. You will prepare a variety of meats, seafood, vegetables, and other items, while maintaining portion control, recipe knowledge, and cleanliness.

Expect to work across shifts with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction. The role requires standing for long periods, physical stamina, and effective communication with the team and managers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
• Must communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room staff.
• Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
• Stand for long periods (up to 9 hours).
• Schedule flexibility to cover all meal periods.

Responsibilities

• Execute directives from management across all shifts.
• Prepare meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other items on various kitchen equipment.
• Maintain standard portions, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules.
• Know and follow all recipes.
• Keep a clean and sanitary workstation and equipment.
• Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up.
• Assist in food prep during slower periods.
• Open and close kitchen per checklists and be checked out by a manager.
