Job summary

Tupelo Honey Downtown Asheville is seeking a kitchen team member to prepare meats, seafood, vegetables, and other food items across broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers. You will maintain recipe knowledge, ensure portion control, and keep a clean, safe station for high-volume service.

Applicants should have at least 1 year of kitchen prep and cooking experience, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and communicate clearly with managers and staff. Flexible schedule required to cover all meal periods.

Qualifications

• 1 year minimum experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
• At least 6 months experience in a similar capacity.
• Clear communication with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods (up to 9 hours).

Responsibilities

• Execute all directives of management throughout all shifts.
• Prepare meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking.
• Know and comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules.
• Maintain knowledge of all recipes.
• Keep a clean and sanitary workstation and equipment.
• Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes.
• Assist in food prep during off-peak periods.
• Open and close the kitchen and complete checklists, with manager checkout.
