Job summary

Tupelo Honey - Columbus is hiring for a kitchen role focused on food prep and line work within a bustling restaurant environment. The team embraces our belief that basic hospitality and care create exceptional guest experiences.

Essentials include at least 1 year of kitchen prep/cooking experience, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and clear communication with managers and peers. The position requires standing for long periods, with benefits including health coverage and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1 year minimum experience in kitchen prep and cooking.
• 6 months experience in a similar capacity.
• Clear communication with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.
• Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
• Standing for long periods (up to 9 hours).

Responsibilities

• Execute all directives of management throughout all shifts.
• Prepare meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other items using broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and other kitchen equipment.
• Know and comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules.
• Maintain knowledge of all recipes.
• Keep a clean and sanitary work station and equipment.
• Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes.
• Assist in food prep during off-peak periods as needed.
• Open and close the kitchen properly and follow checklists; assist others in opening/closing.
