Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Compliance Specialist in multifamily affordable housing.
• In-depth knowledge of LIHTC program regulations and requirements.
• Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to on-site staff.
• Familiarity with HUD programs; HOME program knowledge is a plus.
• Excellent mathematical skills for accurate financial calculations and reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Office 365 Outlook, SharePoint.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel for site visits and audits.

Responsibilities

• Implement and oversee compliance programs and policies related to LIHTC and HUD regulations
• Conduct initial lease-ups and ensure ongoing compliance with program requirements
• Perform regular internal audits to verify adherence to regulatory standards
• Review and understand various types of documents for verification purposes
• Provide detailed directions and training to staff on compliance expectations and matters
• Collaborate with different departments to ensure organization-wide compliance
• Prepare and submit compliance reports to Owners, Investors, and Regulatory agencies
• Stay updated on changes in housing regulations and standards, particularly for LIHTC and HUD programs
