Job summary

The DC Army National Guard seeks a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic responsible for supervising and performing maintenance and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles in the field and shop. You will inspect, service, repair, test, and replace components, including electrical systems and wiring harnesses.

Training includes Basic Training (10 weeks) and Advanced Individual Training (AIT, 13 weeks). Paid training, tuition assistance, and a monthly paycheck support a civilian career path in automotive

Qualifications

• Enlistment in the Army National Guard is required.
• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old.
• Able to pass a physical exam and meet legal/moral standards.
• Citizenship requirements must be met.

Responsibilities

• Maintain wheeled vehicles, associated trailers and material handling equipment.
• Service electrical systems, wiring harnesses, and starting/charging systems.
