Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic to ensure wheeled equipment is road-ready. You will supervise and perform maintenance and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles in the field and in the shop.

Responsibilities include inspecting, servicing, repairing, testing and replacing systems; maintenance of electrical and charging systems; and pursuing a civilian career path in related fields with paid training and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Interest in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems.
• Interest in automotive engines and how they work.
• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard or eligibility to enlist.

Responsibilities

• Maintain wheeled vehicles, associated trailers and material handling equipment systems.
• Service automotive electrical systems, including wiring harness, and starting and charging systems.
