Job summary

Bear Valley Mountain Resort Llc is seeking a Lift Operations Assistant Manager to support the Lift Operations Manager in the safe and efficient daily operation of all lifts and supervision of Lift Operations staff.

The role involves scheduling, staffing, training, payroll, equipment, and daily operational needs, with responsibility for safety compliance and cross-department coordination to ensure exceptional guest service.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lift Operations Manager with the supervision, leadership, and development of Lift Operations staff, including training, coaching, and performance management.
• Provide daily direction to Lift Operations staff and assist with assigning work locations and staffing to support safe and efficient operations.
• Assist with preparing staff schedules and communicating staffing needs or changes to the Lift Operations Manager.
• Oversee lift operations as assigned, ensuring proper loading procedures, guest service, and compliance with company safety standards and operating procedures.
• Train and assist employees with lift operations, ticket scanning systems, lift logbooks, and required operational procedures.
• Assist with department inventory, including equipment, tools, uniforms, and operational supplies.
• Monitor ticket scanning operations through visual observation and the Axess system and report discrepancies or concerns to the Lift Operations Manager.
• Respond to lift-related operational issues and assist with incident investigations and required documentation.
• Communicate operational changes, including delays, wind holds, and closures, to Lift Operations staff and other departments as directed.
• Assist with daily coordination between Lift Operations, Mountain Operations, Ski Patrol, and other resort departments.
• Serve as the Lift Operations Manager’s designated support and provide leadership of the department in their absence.
• Attend operational meetings as requested and assist with grooming coordination, and other Mountain Operations needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
