Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking lifeguards to oversee pool safety and supervise participants. You must be 16 or older and capable of meeting safety standards in a communal swimming environment.

Ideal candidates have or can obtain American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and demonstrate strong swim skills and a commitment to safety. Flexible opening shifts and the benefits of YMCA membership are highlighted in this role.

Qualifications

• American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or ability to pass the course.
• Passionate about safety around water and strong swim skills.
• Age 16+.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the safety and surveillance of all pool participants.
• Understanding and applying organizational safety procedures for the pool deck and aquatic areas.
• Maintaining organization and cleanliness of the pool deck, including skimming and brushing.
