Milton Hershey School is seeking an indoor Lifeguard to support the K-12 aquatics program during fall, winter and spring. Shifts cover school hours, after school, weekends, and summer as needed.
The role requires at least 15 years old and a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (or certification provided by MHS). Competitive pay and staff perks are offered in a safe, supervised environment.

MHS provides enrolled students with a multitude of opportunities, including numerous athletic options with access to state-of-the-art athletic & recreational facilities led by a committed staff. We are currently seeking indoor Lifeguards to work throughout the fall, winter and spring seasons.MHS has 3 indoor pools for the elementary, middle and high school divisions. Swimming lessons, recreational time and competitive training and events are all uses of the pools that occur throughout the school year. Shifts are available during school hours, as well as after school, weekends and during summer.
The K-12 Aquatics Lifeguard is responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy learning/recreational environment during all Aquatics Program offerings. Lifeguards maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility to ensure everyone\u2019s safety and to immediately and effectively address and resolve any concerns with both youth and adults. Due to the nature of the position, a physical skills test will be performed for those applicants chosen for interview. The physical skills test will include the following:
Competitive pay in the amount of $16.20 an hour. Employees have access to free lunches in the cafeterias while on duty and are eligible for Hershey area discounts.
Physical Requirements:
Maintain constant vigilance and alertness
Perform water rescues when necessary
Hear distress signals and observe entire pool area
Stand or sit for extended periods
Lift and move pool equipment when necessary.
Qualifications
Must be at least 15 years old
Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or pass the American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification class provided by MHS
Strong swimming abilities and stamina
Demonstrated professional attitude and teamwork
Ability to work flexible schedule/shifts, including daytime, evenings and weekends
Flexibility to work during the summer season, preferred
Must exhibit high standards of professionalism, attentive vigilance, aquatic life-saving skill proficiency, supervision, customer service, and leadership.
Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity, as all MHS Staff are role models for MHS Students.
