Job summary

The Lifeguard II at the YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta supports the Aquatic Director in supervising the pool area and ensuring a safe environment for members and participants. This experienced staff member assists with lifeguard coverage, pool operations, and monthly trainings while upholding YMCA standards.

Requirements include minimum 18 years old, 2+ years lifeguarding, and current YMCA Lifeguard Certification with CPR/AED/First Aid. A YMCA Leader Certificate is expected within 90 days.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe aquatic area and supervise lifeguard staff.
• Coordinate lifeguard placement and rotations.
• Assist with pool opening/closing and pool chemistry as needed.
• Act as lifeguard during shift and respond to incidents.
• Provide customer service to members and participants.
• Attend monthly in-service trainings.
